L1100383-6We all know about the Taj Mahal – one of the World’s 7 wonders and that it is designed as a UNESCO World Heritage.

I had a vision of how my relationship with Taj Mahal should look like. It’s clearly seen in all the photos how beautiful the Taj Mahal is, so I wanted to dress up for the visit. I headed to the market in Agra just the night before I went to visit Taj Mahal to buy a sari. It was pretty extreme as I bought it late at night and the Indian lady quickly taught me how to wear it. I had to repeat it the next morning at 5 am as I visited the Taj Mahal during the sun rise. Always try to visit the Taj Mahal in the morning before the sun rises, you will get the most beautiful view, aesthetic fulfillment and fantastic emotions once you see it in sun rise!

I took a tour guide, suggested by my friend, and I don’t regret it. He was very knowledgeable about the history and the Taj Mahal’s history is so romantic that it won’t bore you, I promise! My tour guide knew the best spots where to take the photos and after inviting him to take the pictures in the spot I wanted, he proved what a good photographer he is! And no surprise – it turned out he has worked in fashion! So I got a tour guide, body guard and brilliant photographer in one person! And he also taught me some tricks how to get rid of the nasty salesmen. If you’re a woman and single traveler I especially recommend you to take a good guide, always better through suggestions or reviews, because Agra is not a safe city. It’s unsafe for any tourist, also if you travel as a couple or with bunch of friends. Be careful!L1100451-12

The best way to get rid of the salesmen near the Taj Mahal and in whole India is to avoid eye contact, just look straight and say no word. I was very strict all the time with them, sometimes almost rude and nothing helped until I learned that I have to pretend that they don’t exist and keep your eyes straight and away from them. That does the magic!

No matter what your itinerary for India is, I know Agra and Taj Mahal is on your list. You will love it!

Have a good journey 🙂
